We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and ambitious Engineer to join our Turbomachinery commercial team on a permanent basis. Ideally, this position will be based at our site in Slough, where Dry Gas Seals are engineered, manufactured, and serviced however, we are open to considering candidates located within a commutable distance from our other sites in Manchester and Aberdeen.
The opportunity will involve you providing specialist Dry Gas Seal technical sales support for our engineered to order Sales Team in relation to the supply of new compressors to EPCs operating in the fast-growing energy transition market.
As the Product Specialist you will be the single point contact for the OEM sales team liaising with all internal stakeholders (engineering, operations, finance etc.) to provide timely and competitive quotations and general bid support. You will also be responsible for checking and processing incoming orders to ensure a clean handover to the operations project management team.
We envisage that the successful individual will be a graduate level engineer with around 2 years+ experience, who is able to demonstrates an ambitious, outgoing, motivated, and curious mindset who is keen to develop their career into a more techno/commercial engineering discipline. It would be ideal if you have dry gas seal knowledge, if not, then centrifugal turbo compressor or rotating equipment knowledge would be advantageous.
This role has significant potential for personal development and growth. It could also lead to progression in other disciplines including, commercial, product management, and customer facing areas, such as, key account management, project management, commercial management, product management, marketing, and business development.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Acting as a single point contact to the John Crane OEM sales team for Engineered to order Dry Gas seal enquiries for specified regions.
- Liaise with all internal stakeholders (Engineering, Operations, Finance, Global projects team) to provide internal quotations.
- Prepare costings, confirm lead times, generate full lifecycle revenue and margin analysis.
- Provide other types of bid support, such as attending customer meetings, providing reference lists and other bid support documentation.
- Lead contract review meetings.
- Process enquiries through CRM and other systems.
- Process orders within SAP.
- Support with process improvement activities

The Individual
- Degree educated with an engineering discipline.
- Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly to a professional standard both verbally and in writing at different levels of the business and with customers directly.
- An understanding of dry gas seals, technical, and/or operational, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry and an awareness of turbomachinery, compressors and/or rotating equipment would be advantageous but not essential.
- Can do attitude with a passion for continuous development and customer service.
- A high level of computer literacy and developed analytical skills.
