Location: Maidenhead
We have a great opportunity for a developing technical professional to join our team as the Innovation & Quality Technologist at Maidenhead. This role allows for Hybrid working, you will be based at our Head Office in Maidenhead but will have the flexibility to work from home.
As a valued member of the Innovation team, you will be working closely with the Innovation Project Co-ordinator, you will support the management of the site NPD trials programme. You will collate all information required to instruct the bakeries in recipes/process to be used during the trials and review results from trials liaising with stakeholders, bakeries and external laboratories.
You will also support the Quality and Digital Manager in compiling QAS documents from information already obtained or resulting from quality assessment sessions in which you will participate, and you will assist in the creation of representative digital images.
- Collate details from various sources to instruct bakeries in their programme of NPD trials, (details will include recipes, allergens, testing regimes).
- Upload Trial Request documents and Sample Request documents on the AB Intranet.
- Liaise directly with bakeries to solve queries regarding the site trials programme and with sub-contracted laboratories to chase/query test results.
- Understand the sample logging process in the ATC laboratory so that effective communication maintained with sub-contracted laboratories to chase/query test results.
- Monitor results and produce summary reports for stakeholders such as NPD managers.
- Write QAS documents from information already obtained or resulting from quality assessment session in which you will participate.
- Support the provision of draft and final photographic standards for all AB products including printing and laminating.
- Measure quality attributes as appropriate on new and amended products, e.g. dimensions
- Ad hoc duties including supporting with Specifications, Packaging Specs, Food Safety, data transfer & responding to customer queries.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree / equivalent in Food Science or related discipline.
- A keen interest in food science and the food industry in general.
- Good numeracy skills and proficient in the manipulation of technical data.
- High attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines without compromising accuracy and attention to detail is crucial.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good team worker who promotes the team culture but is able to work on own initiative when required.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.
