Job description
Provide specialist knowledge and understanding of clinical systems and electronic patient record (EPR) architecture and the database schema. Assist in the development of new datasets required to support the ever changing requirements and business processes of the Trust To be the trust lead for extremely complex problems or issues with applications or interfaces. To be able to identify root causes and to recommend, plan and implement solutions using resources from the across the BI, ICT and Software Development Teams where appropriate. Develop scripts in MSSQL To investigate and report on how to best manage a multi MSSQL Server database environment taking into account such aspects as maintenance, tuning, backup and restoration and disaster recovery.
To discuss the implementation of any findings and to lead on implementing these plans in partnership with ICT / External System Suppliers. To include SSIS and SSRS. To work alongside stakeholders to develop new database proposals and recommendations for the use of specific database design to meet client needs and present these proposals to the target audience using negotiation and persuasion skills to ensure that the client understands the options presented and to ensure that the best outcome is reached. To provide information and advice to clients with regard to 3rd party procurement projects.
To lead on delivering any aspect of these procurements that falls within the jurisdiction of BI and to monitor these plans and implementation. To lead on defining and implementing good practice in all aspects of database development in accordance with internationally recognised standards. To ensure that any databases, reports, extracts or interfaces developed by the Trust are both robust and fit for purpose. Responsible for the development, maintenance and interpretation of a large number of diverse and highly complex information data sources and extracts.
Work with finance, workforce, governance, estates and other corporate colleagues to develop the integrated reporting framework. To have a thorough understanding of the NHS, its data items, its Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), its working practices and its legislation relating to data and information handling. To make recommendations on the impact of new legislation to both internal and external parties which may impact on the BI and Development Team. Analyse data from multiple sources, investigate core errors, resolve complex statistical and analytical queries/issues and determine the best solution.
This involves the interpretation and presentation of large volumes of highly complex, sensitive data from a variety of sources to individuals and groups of professionals. Develop and maintain reports as required to support statutory returns, research and audit, commissioning, service review, clinical/operational and performance management. Work with the Business Intelligence team to develop automated reporting solutions. To provide ad hoc query support to the department ensuring a timely and accurate response to requests from clinicians/managers Develop strong working relationships with corporate and directorate managers to ensure reports meet their needs and help staff to interpret reports.
