Location: Hybrid (1 day/month on-site)
Knowesis is currently seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) mission to lead the national efforts to protect and enhance the resilience of the nation’s physical and cyberinfrastructure. This is a hybrid position, 90% remote.
This position requires U.S. Citizenship due to its Clearance requirement (applicants without proof of US citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirement).
The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Oversee and perform analytical work.
- Lead and support multiple, concurrent analytical efforts in support of high-visibility projects.
- Develop research project plans, including objectives, methodology, deliverables, schedule, and proposed staffing.
- Provide timely and polished status updates to leadership and the customer.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality technical products and solutions.
- Help identify and develop new analytical ideas, approaches, and supporting capabilities.
- Analyze data to better understand potential risks, concerns, and outcomes of decisions.
- Aggregate data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive assessment.
- Create reports, summaries, presentations, and process documents to display results.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 - 7 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field.
- Specific Technical Skills: Proficiency in network security, vulnerability assessment, incident response, and intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS). Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of government-specific regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PCI, DSS, etc.).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and mitigate potential cybersecurity risks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Industry-recognized certifications, including but not limited to Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
- Advanced Technical Skills: Experience with advanced security technologies, such as intrusion prevention systems (IPS), security information and event management (SIEM) tools, and secure coding practices. (Not required to perform the job but would be beneficial).
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Telecommunication, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Salary will be based on a combination of education, certifications, years of relevant experience, and skill set.
