Job objectives and responsibilities


  • To deliver reliable, actionable intelligence concerning crime and security threats to the Sainsbury's network in order to drive the resource to risk model, and contribute to creating a safe and secure environment.
  • Proactively merge intelligence from disparate qualitative and quantitative sources and draw inferences and conclusions based on client needs.
  • Proactively update/maintain the Sainsbury's PROTECT incident managment platform and support client with further roleout of platform. Ensuring high levels of integrity are maintained and sufficient audit trails.
  • Proactively check that all reported Sainsbury's incidents are accurately reported, reviewed and escalated appropriately
  • Provide the highest standards of intelligence to influence key decision makers internally.
  • Maintain the dynamic risk register, working with the Corporate Security Manager to deveop an effective risk based deployment model
  • Supports a great working environment that reflects both Mitie and Sainsbury's values
  • To deliver results that meet the agreed ‘Ways of Working' and set KPI's
  • To maintain and promote the Mitie brand and reputation by providing an industry leading security provision.
  • Maximise the efficiency of the deployment of officers utilising systems and technology to deliver intelligence led services based upon risk and data analysis.
  • Contribute to the success of the Sainsbury's contract through effective training and continuous on-going colleague coaching.
  • Support the client and be responsible for the timely completion of corporate related reporting and any other related tasks/activities

Main duties

  • Analyse data to provide advice or more effectively managed security resources.
  • Oversignt and administration of travel platform and to ensure colleagues travel data is up to date.
  • Oversignt and administration of PROTECT Incident Management platform.
  • Create intelligence products to identify risk and vulnerabilities to our client's corporate operations and wider estate
  • Management of follow up incident support and ensure appropriate risk mitigation solutions are presented to the Corporate Security Manager
  • Present intelligence and evidence to the client and law enforcement partners
  • Promote intelligence sharing with internal and external stakeholders including law enforcement partners
  • Bring to the fore innovations in crime threat intelligence to enhance the capability and reputation of the origination as an industry leader
  • Actively engage with internal and external customers to fully understand operational requirements and promote effective crime prevention strategies
  • Ensure the compliance with GDPR and company and client quality standard
  • Where appropriate, implement actions to protect the business and minimise non-compliance at all times
  • Work and communicate with other support functions as appropriate to ensure workflow is effective and delivers the right output in the right timescales
  • Provide training and oral briefings to the client and contract management team as required
  • Delivery of time critical tasks as directed by the client and and contracts senior management team
  • Complete ad-hoc projects as designated by the Group Security Manager or the client on time and to the required high standard

Personal Specification

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong big-data analytical ability – an expert user of Microsoft Office products, in particular Excel, and use of crime intelligence databases and a good working knowledge of Word , Outlook and Power Point
  • Experience in writing strategic and tactical reports
  • Strong understanding of organised acquisitive crime or loss prevention witin retal and distribution
  • An excellent communicator with experience in delivering oral and written presentations to senior leadership
  • Customer service focused
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a strong team ethic
  • Good educational background and a solid command of written and spoken English
  • Experience of working within a demanding fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure amd make quick decisions
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Reliable, flexible and discreet
  • Experience of working in a controlled environment
  • Solid organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities and achieve tight deadlines
  • A positive attitude and ability to deal with pressure professionally
  • SIA Licence holder - CCTV & minimum front line Guarding * desirable

  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system

Information Security

  • Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities
  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager
  • Report actual and suspected security incidents
