We are looking for a IT Security Officer to join our I.T department on a permanent basis (immediate start available).

This role is Monday to Friday, and benefits from working from home and collaboratively in our head office in Dorking - 3 days required in the office per week, however flexible hours can be offered.

Role overview

Der Touristik UK is committed to ensuring that all customer and employee data is protected, and that our working practices comply with data protection legislation, external security best practice and internal security policies. We take all necessary steps to make sure that the networks are safe from external threats, including those who want access for malicious purposes.

This role involves both assessing whether vulnerabilities exist and also working with the team to identify how risks can be mitigated. A key part of the role is implementing security audits to both meet regulatory and internal audit requirements.

As the IT Security Officer, known as the Security Executive you will conduct ongoing vulnerability scans, monitor network data, ensure updates to hardware and software applications as needed and provide (near) real-time security topic feedback to the key stakeholders and rest of the IT team.

What youll be doing

  • Responsible for safeguarding information system assets
  • Protect systems by defining access privileges, control structures and resource
  • Ensure all legislative and internal regulations and policies are communicated, implemented and maintained
  • Determine security violations and inefficiencies by conducting regular audits
  • Assist with implementation of security controls and maintain ongoing awareness and company-wide training
  • Identify and solve potential and actual security problems
  • Assess the current situation, evaluating trends and anticipate future security requirements
  • Keep stakeholders informed by preparing performance reports and regularly communicate system status
  • Maintain quality service by following organisation standards
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
  • Contribute to all relevant change boards highlight any security concerns
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

  • Continually develop personal knowledge and expertise, be pro-active and work with autonomy
  • Be positive in undertaking any reasonable duties relevant to the position to ensure the success of the operation
  • Fulfil team and administrative activities; complete administrative duties on time and to the required standard, attend regular team meetings and divisional stand ups

You will have

Essential

  • Proven work experience in a similar security role
  • Hands-on experience analysing high volumes of logs, network data and other attack artifacts
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions
  • Proficiency with antivirus and security software

    Desirable

  • Experience of presenting to stakeholders and users
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
