What we need:
As an award winning GOVCON contractor, DTC Global Services is continuously looking to growth. This growth has created a need for an ambitious Security Analyst with a cyber security background! The Security Analyst will assist the security team in managing cybersecurity activities and achieving desired outcomes. You will work closely with the team to ensure compliance with the NIST Cyber Security Framework, which consists of the five core functions: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover. Experience in writing structured technical and functional documents, as well as incorporating Section 508 requirements, is highly desirable for this role.

Job Summary- The Technical Consultant will be responsible for:
- Assist the security team in managing and implementing cybersecurity activities.
- Work in collaboration with the team to achieve desired outcomes and goals.
- Ensure compliance with the NIST Cyber Security Framework, specifically the five core functions: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and security audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.
- Provide recommendations and guidance on security best practices and strategies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Monitor and analyze security logs, events, and alerts to identify and respond to security incidents.
- Perform security incident response activities, including containment, investigation, and recovery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective implementation of security controls and measures.
- Responsible for weekly scan process report and mitigating alerts.
- Review security scan reports and coordinate with the team for resolution plan.
- Conduct security awareness and training sessions for employees to promote a culture of security.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in the cybersecurity field, and proactively suggest improvements and enhancements to security practices.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Proven experience as a Security Analyst or similar role with a focus on Cyber Security.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the NIST Cyber Security Framework and its five core functions: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover.
- Familiarity with Section 508 requirements and experience incorporating them into technical and functional documents is preferred.
- Solid understanding of risk assessment methodologies, vulnerability assessment techniques, and security audit processes.
- Experience in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Proficiency in analyzing security logs, events, and alerts using security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
- Knowledge of security incident response methodologies and the ability to effectively respond to security incidents.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write structured technical and functional documents.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Certification in CISSP, CISM, COMPTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 5 years of experience or;
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 3 years of experience.
