Background
City’s Library service provides support to students, staff and the wider University community with three library locations, augmented by online resources and user support delivered both online and at our library help desks. We are seeking to recruit an Information Assistant to join our Law Library team. The role will be based in the Law Library located in the City Law School Building at the Northampton Square campus.
Responsibilities
Duties in the Law Library will include handling circulation transactions and enquiries at the library help desk, helping maintain the study environment in the library and supporting our online enquiry service. You will support our Academic and Content & Discovery Services teams in processing library stock acquisitions and maintaining the law library collections. Regular tasks will include assisting with maintaining content and material through the Reading Lists Online portal, loose-leafing of legal report material, processing of serials and digitisation of high demand course reading content.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will be able to offer excellent customer service and will possess good verbal and written communication skills. You will be familiar with using libraries and library resources and able to utilize information technology to a high standard, including web technologies and social media. You will be capable of working effectively in a team as well as individually and able to organize and prioritise your own workload. The ability to deliver work with a high degree of accuracy is an important element in this role.
