You will be joining an enthusiastic, friendly, motivated multidisciplinary team working within a centre of excellence for maternity service delivery.

We have a busy level three neonatal unit with close links with the other UCLH specialist hospitals and Great Ormond Street Hospital. Our maternity unit cares for approximately 6,000 births per year and we have a co-located midwifery led birth centre delivering 1000 births per year. We look after a diverse population of which we offer an individualized service, and we are committed to the promotion of normality and the forefront of innovation. Our first-class service is reflected in the positive feedback we receive, and the many women outside our catchment area choosing to come and give birth here with us at UCLH.

We have a strong commitment to staff development and service improvement; have commissioned links with City, Southbank and Kings College Universities.

Situated in central London there is an easy commute to all major train stations, and excellent tube links. You’ll be perfectly positioned outside work too as we’re located right in the heart of London’s West End.

We are looking to recruit a band 4 Infant feeding support worker on a fixed term 1 year contract (to cover maternity leave) for 21 hours a week.

The Maternity Care Unit consists of 40 beds. We work in close partnership with our transitional care unit which is also situated on the ward. UCLH is UNICEF Baby Friendly Accredited.

You will need good communication skills, be able to function well as part of a team and be motivated to facilitate changes.
We are seeking a capable and experienced infant feeding support worker to complement our existing team which is based on our busy postnatal ward.

We require the post holder to be enthusiastic, and demonstrate the appropriate competencies for the role, working within the existing multidisciplinary team and have good communication skills on all levels.Previous experience and training in supporting breastfeeding is essential.
