You will be an integral member of Imperial’s Enterprise Division, working with leading global companies (major sponsors are AstraZeneca, GSK, Bayer, Boehringer Ingelheim, MSD, BMS, Novartis, Waters Corporation, JnJ, etc.) and our world-class researchers to develop research and technologies through collaboration and commercialisation.

Duties and responsibilities

As a service provider to the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Natural Sciences supporting academics in their interactions with industry and commercialisation activities, your main duties will include:

  • Promoting College’s research capabilities/technologies
  • Driving the development of industry partnerships and managing and diversifying a portfolio of existing industry and key stakeholder relationships.
  • Assessment of research discoveries, analysis and evaluation, and advancement of those technologies through collaboration with industry, access to translational funds, and commercialisation income.
  • Managing industry partnerships and key stakeholder relationships.

Essential requirements

To be successful in this role you will have experience in commercial deal making or licensing in a life sciences business environment (e.g. chemicals, materials, pharma, biotech, life sciences etc) or in technology venture capital. An understanding of the academic environment, and in particular, university funding mechanisms and technology commercialisation, preferably gained through previous experience of working within HEI or industry is essential.

Strategic and analytical mindset, strong delivery focus, excellent communication skills coupled with an understanding of the academic environment, product innovation and technology commercialisation processes are also essential.
