Who we need
We are looking for an Industrial Designer to join our team as a transformation artist turning concepts into reality. You will be an integral part of our global design and development group, collaborating with our clients to establish comprehensive project briefs and translating their ideas into innovative retail solutions.
You will provide design recommendations based on retail trends and industry insights, generate value-added ideas and alternative solutions, and develop planograms that can take the client need from concept to product, capturing all specifications (material, finish, process, fit, functionality, aesthetic), for the manufacturing process.
Please note that this is a remote role.
What you will focus on:
- Consultation. You will work directly with internal and external teams. You will:
- Connect with the client and retailers to better understand the brand and consumer behavior as it relates to the design request and post-design to present planogram and apply changes.
- Collaborate with Chapter and BU team members to establish requests and deliverables at initial briefing and post-design to evaluate the feasibility of concepts by considering practicality, aesthetics, budget, production cost/methods, and brand characteristics.
- Work closely with the Project Team in collaborative huddles to guide designs that consider sustainability, value, design for ease of manufacturing, and retail principles.
- Innovation. You will:
- Propose designs that are original, on brand, functional, sustainable, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
- Create design presentations using a variety of techniques that include sketching, technical illustrations, photoshop, 3D SolidWorks Modeling and digital renderings.
- Identify appropriate and cost-effective materials and processes
- Develop solutions that are manufacturable and on brand
- Produce Design Presentations and Planogram Presentations. ensuring format of deliverables and quality of presentations are in line with the Array Way standards.
- Stay at the edge of industry, market and material trends through publications, tradeshows, seminars, or conferences.
What you bring:

You have the enthusiasm to bring new ideas to the table for products, the inspiration to think outside the box in design, and the determination to see it through to production.
- The experience. You have a degree or diploma in Industrial Design or a related field and 2+ years progressive experience in Creative Design for POP/Retail design. You have a portfolio that demonstrates your creativity, design skills, understanding of form and materials, and that extra inspiration and innovation.
- The technical skills. You are proficient with design software, including Adobe Creative Suite, business software, including MS Office. You are familiar with AutoCAD and you may have exposure to SolidWorks. You are capable of preparing drawings, illustrations, renderings, presentations or rough sketches. You can read and interpret documents such as design briefs, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
- The interpersonal skills. You have flexible and effective communication skills, and the confidence to present ideas to the team or the clients. You can write and interpret reports and correspondence. You thrive in a collaborative environment and can build trusting relationships with internal and external teams, influencing without authority. You are a thorough planner, with a systematic approach to completing tasks. You can work independently with minimal supervision.
