Job Summary:
The industrial cleaning operative is responsible for the smooth running of industrial cleaning activities on customer sites and at Red Industries Group premises, always taking instruction from the Industrial cleaning supervisor.
Read and understand job specific method statements, risk assessments & COSHH assessments.
Responsible for control of their own PPE and method of work according to the RAMS.
First Aider duties (if accredited)
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with confined space procedures, use of high-pressure water jetting equipment and other industrial site service requirements.
- Ensure compliance with specific H&S regulations and any site-specific requirements.
- Keep up regular near miss reporting.
- Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of plant and equipment, including vehicles.
- Ensure site/customer requirements have been satisfied and jobs are completed to full scope.
- Liaison with customers and site contacts as and when required.
- Keep up good communication with line manager.
Critical Qualifications:
- Working at Height
- Confined Space Entry
- High Pressure Jetting
- First Aider
Critical Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Experience of industrial cleaning activities on customers sites.
- Working knowledge of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments and Health and Safety Legislation
- Good team working skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to multitask
Primary Responsibilities:
- Confined space work
- Cleaning out tanks, including Jet washing
- High Pressure Water Jetting inside tanks to NDT Standards
- Working inside tanks
- Installing tanks & bunds
- Decommissioning & removal of tanks
- Working to a high safety standard
- Assisting in the depot when not out on Industrial projects
Full training will be given to the right candidate.
Person Specification:
- Practical experience working tools & machinery.
- Able to work within confined spaces.
- Able to work at heights.
- Physical fit, manual handling involved.
- Driving Licence.
- Working within a team
- Good communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Flexible to cover additional hours.
- Flexible in working at various locations within the UK.
Training/desirable Requirements:
- CSCS/CCNSG Cards
- IPAF
- PASMA certificate
- FLT training
- Water Jetting (At high pressure up to 40,000psi)
- Confined space training
- COSHH awareness
- Working on Tier 1 COMAH sites
