UWE Bristol are one of the largest universities in the South West and one of the largest employers in the Bristol region. We currently have an opportunity for an Inclusive Learning Lead in our new Digital Learning Service.
About the vacancy:
Digital Learning @ UWE Bristol will be a catalyst, enabler, and connector, enriching and enhancing problem-based learning and the wider student experience. All our students will benefit from a high quality digitally enabled learning and teaching environment which fosters innovation, collaboration, and inclusion.
You will be involved in many Inclusive Learning projects within this new Digital Learning Service and there will be plenty of opportunities to have an impact by using innovative approaches, working with an inspiring and passionate group of people and whilst working on some very exciting projects as we work towards achieving the objectives below:
- We will ensure that all students have access to inclusive and dynamic digital and problem-based learning opportunities as part of their programmes of study.
- We will develop and deliver a sector-leading digital education service to ensure digitally enabled learning and teaching is well supported, agile, and transformative.
- We will provide learning environments and spaces that foster collaborative learning and teaching, bringing together learners, educators, professional technical staff, and external partners to develop and deliver practice-led, problem-based programmes that prepare them for the real world.
- We will enrich the delivery of our programmes through simulation, virtual labs, studio spaces and specialist facilities.
- We will support our students and staff to be confident and capable, with the skills, knowledge and behaviours that support them to become active and enterprising digital producers and citizens.
- We will have robust and supportive approaches and actions to address digital poverty.
- We will use our innovative learning approaches to build partnerships and networks which will benefit our students, helping them to connect with the world and with each other.
About you:

You are ambitious, inclusive, innovative, collaborative, and enterprising. You are an experienced Inclusive Learning Designer with expertise in inclusivity, Universal Design for Learning, accessibility, and assistive technologies. Have a strong growth mindset, open-minded, motivated, creative leader, an excellent problem solver and great with people. You will be key in driving change and mindsets by using innovative and authentic, Inclusive Learning Design to deliver on outcomes. You will be part of a workplace culture where people feel valued, included, and supported to be their best.

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed – £300m has been invested recently on new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation while we continue to develop incredible new facilities to enhance our offer even further.
Frenchay campus has excellent transport links; as well as being located near the motorway network we are within walking distance of two train stations, our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.

This is a full time, permanent, working 37 hours per week. This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time.
