Purpose
The role of the In-Market Regional Technical Manager (Disease Control Arable crops) is to represent Crop Protection Development in all interactions with North-West Europe Business Unit (BU) and to ensure technical alignment between Business Units and Regional teams in the development of new Crop Protection Products and offers.
Accountabilities
- To represent CPD in North-West Business Unit (UK-Ire, Benelux and Nordics) activities to ensure the portfolio of new Crop Protection Product projects both synthetic chemistry and biocontrols) and offers fully represents the needs of this Business Unit.
- To lead the field development activities and technical launch teams for defined EAME projects efficiently and to agreed deadlines for a range of specified Business Units on behalf of the Disease Control Arable crops Strategic Segment Markets (SMS) teams
- To project manage (plan, implement) and report to key stakeholders the results and conclusions of field programs
- To ensure technical integrity across all activities to meet the GAP and BU and SMS requirements for all projects
- To act, contribute and collaborate cross-functionally as the Product Biology representative in different forums e.g. European Project Teams (EPTs), BU Portfolio Teams (BUPT), Strategic Market Sector (SMS) Portfolio Reviews, the Project Definition Cycle (PDC) and in the development of Biological Assessment Dossiers
- To be forward looking and innovative and contribute to identifying new technical / technology opportunities
Desired Experience
- Experience of working in the agrochemical industry either through field trialing, glasshouse/lab research or related fields. R&D/Product Biology experience in the agrochemical industry and good knowledge of the EAME crop protection market
- In-depth technical knowledge of Syngenta and competitor products and technologies of relevance to Fungicides
- Experience of agronomy in managing field trials - implementation, data analysis and reporting
- Experience/knowledge in Biocontrols would be a significant plus for the role
- Ability to communicate with impact to influence and lead others, with particular focus on clear technical messaging
- Ability to derive strategic conclusions and innovations from data analysis
- Experience of delivering on time, on budget and to a high standard within a cross-functional/country environment
