The H.A.T.C.H. program is a non-profit organization that is a vendor of Regional Center of the East Bay. H.A.T.C.H. has been serving those with intellectual and developmentally disabilities for over 50 years throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. We provide Socialization, In Home Day Program and Respite Services to those who have been referred to our program.
H.A.T.C.H. is currently looking to hire individuals to work with our clients within the client’s home or out in the community. We need In Home Day Program Providers and Respite Providers.
- H.A.T.C.H. currently has clients throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. We assign clients according to availability and location along with other considerations.
- H.A.T.C.H. also is in need of individuals willing to provide substitute work to cover absences of staff currently working with clients throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
We are looking for someone with the following attributes:
- Have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with H.A.T.C.H. staff, families and Case Managers both verbally and in writing.
- Has knowledge of developmental disabilities.
- Has the ability to carry out job duties, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision. Possess the skills to exercise cultural competency, maturity and good judgment.
- Has the ability to effectively work collaboratively as part of the team in the office as well as the ability to work with a variety of potentially challenging behaviors.
- Excellent time management skills with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Must be over 18.
Required:
- Someone who has a flexible schedule.
- A dependable and insured vehicle.
- A strong background and work experience working with children and adults out in the community.
- Ability to conduct and lead social activities with children and adults.
Preferred:
- Resourceful and creative in finding inexpensive community activities.
- Bilingual in another language is beneficial.
- Experience with multi-cultural communities.
Roles and Responsibilities for working with our clients:
- Provide supervision and activities to those with intellectual and developmentally disabilities.
- Provide personal care and support to assist with daily living care needs.
- Role model effective ways of working with those who have challenging behaviors.
- Conduct and lead socialization activities.
- Write a daily report that reflects goals for each client.
- Report all suspected child abuse according to laws and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Personnel Requirements:
1. Prior to first day of employment, must have fingerprint clearance and maintain clearance.
2. Prior to first day of employment, verification of a negative TB test and maintain verification as required.
3. On offer of employment, verification to legally work in the US and updated as required.
4. Possess a California Driver's License and have the ability to drive to a variety of locations.
5. Evenings and weekend work may be required.
6. Prior to offer of employment, a Covid-19 vaccination is required.
