Job Description:
37.5 hours per week – 52 weeks
Post: 2nd Line IT Technician
Grade: (£22,500 to £25,000)
Responsible to: AIT Senior Management
The successful candidate will be expected to work at a small cluster of Schools within Leicestershire sharing their time accordingly over scheduled site visits. The successful candidate will be supported by a remote team. Strong communication and troubleshooting skills are a must. We require a minimum of 2 years hands on experience in a 1st line customer facing role. Any 2nd line experience would be advantageous. A valid Driver’s licence is required due to our network spanning multiple sites.
Essential Technical Skills:
- Installing IT hardware and software
- Microsoft Operating systems (Windows 7 and above)
- Windows Server Experience (2012 R2 and Above)
- Good understanding of Active Directory, File permissions, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy
- Excellent troubleshooting skills (Hardware, Software, Networking - routing, switching)
- Exchange, Office 365, PowerShell
Non Essential Technical Skills:
- Capita sims.net, server & client side
- Veeam Backup
- Apple products
- Ubiquiti products
- VOIP systems
- Microsoft Azure
- IP CCTV Systems and Door Access Control (Paxton)
Personal Qualities:
- Ability to work within statutory regulations, policies and procedures
- Attention to detail and an analytical approach
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Good organisation skills, prioritising and managing own time effectively
- Highly motivated team player
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work on own initiative, with minimal supervision and guidance
- Ability to organise and prioritise a heavy workload at busy times
- A calm approachable manner, able to deal with problems in a professional and friendly manner, displaying tact and diplomacy as required
- Willing to undertake training and develop professionally

Qualifications or Training:
5 GCSE’s, including Mathematics and English at grade C or above
OR Professional IT equivalent qualification
