BirdLife International is the world’s largest nature conservation partnership. Through our unique local-to-global approach, we deliver high impact and long-term conservation for the benefit of nature and people.
The Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool (IBAT) is the product of a ground-breaking alliance between four major conservation organisations; BirdLife International, Conservation International, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC). The tool integrates data from core global biodiversity datasets – the World Database on Protected Areas, World Database of Key Biodiversity Areas and the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species – into a single portal to support decision makers from industry, finance and governments. Launched over 12 years ago, it is an innovative solution for providing biodiversity information to decision makers while channelling resources into the underlying datasets.
The Programme Officer is responsible for IBAT’s business development, user support, and marketing and communications. Working closely with the IBAT Manager and other Programme Officer, and supported by the IBAT User Sub-committee, you will engage with businesses and financial institutions across a range of sectors to expand IBAT to more organisations. You will support existing IBAT users, delivering training and providing user support to ensure organisations can use IBAT to incorporate biodiversity into their decision making. You will work within a multidisciplinary and cross organisational team, helping generate innovate ideas based on your experience working with IBAT users to generate new products and services.
The ideal candidate will have
- Degree level in business studies, conservation or other relevant degree.
