About the role
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced generalist Human Resources professional for the post off Human Resources (HR) Officer in the UCL Institute for Global Health (IGH), working closely with the Institute Manager and the Director. This is a full-time, permanent post. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the administration activities relating to HR, managing the interactions between the Faculty and our HR Business Partner and UCL’s central HR teams. The chief objective is to facilitate the smooth running of all activities related to HR. This includes directing the staff recruitment function, managing the on boarding of staff from induction through probation to regular appraisal, and acting as the first point of contact for all HR-related staffing queries. In addition the HR Officer will provide high-level support to the Director, Institute Manager and line managers providing advice and guidance on HR processes and policies, employee relations issues and actively supporting managers and staff to follow appropriate HR procedures. This is a full-time, permanent role available from April 2023.
About you
The post holder should be educated educated to degree standard or have equivalent professional HR qualifications. Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of equality, immigration and data protection law. Experience of implementing and advising on HR policies, procedures and processes effectively are essential as is excellent knowledge of employment legislation and enthusiasm to update this knowledge of a regular basis.
