Drink Warehouse UK are a completely independent wholesaler operating and delivering 6 days a week throughout Kent, Sussex and London. We supply numerous pubs, bars and restaurants with all of their bar essentials such as Beer, Wine, Spirits, Soft Drinks and Coffee, through to Dispense Gas, Pipeline Cleaner and Bar Snacks.

We are currently recruiting for a HR Officer to join our busy team.
The Human Resources Officer has full responsibility for the HR and Payroll Function. They will provide an efficient and professional HR service to the business ensuring that processes are consistent throughout the organisation. The HR Officer is responsible for ensuring that the business is fully compliant with all employment law regulations. They will work closely with all departments assisting Managers to understand and implement company policies and procedures.
Main Duties
- Liaising with Managers on any recruitment needs, developing job descriptions and advertising on the appropriate avenues and managing the offer process
- Ensuring that the company are recruiting top level employees by using effective screening and interviewing techniques
- Manage the onboarding process with the use of the HR system
- Working closely with the senior management team on any employee engagement, improvement projects and leading on the delivery of these
- Ensuring consistent training for all team managers on any staffing issues
- Ensure the HR system is always up to date and use it to provide data to the Directors
- Carrying out disciplinary and grievance procedures and support managers on performance issues
- Being the first contact for any HR queries for all level staff
- Manage the leaver process via the HR System
- Develop and maintain the HR System and all records and documents on it
- Undertaking audits and inspections of all sites and preparing site specific reports to identify corrective actions and ensure continual improvement of standards
- To lead or support initiatives across the business that promote health and wellbeing.
- Promoting a positive H&S culture. Assisting local H&S teams and staff to support and guide them in their efforts
- Liaising with an external third-party employment law and H&S advisor, ensuring their advice is followed within the organisation
- Contributing to incident investigations as necessary
- Managing the monthly payroll
Key Skills
- A proven track record in HR and Payroll.
- CIPD level 3 qualified
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Able to work to strict deadlines and targets.
- Excellent interpersonal and people management skills.
- Clean driving license.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all members of staff at all levels.
- Proven organisational skills, including planning and problem solving.
- Building, maintaining and enhancing effective working relationships with all Drink Warehouse UK Staff.
- Proven record in delivering excellent customer service and meeting customer expectations.
- A conscientious, proactive and positive approach to duties.
- Flexible working attitude.
- Good working knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft word and Excel.
Salary: OTE up to £40,000
