Job description
Human Resources Lead
We're seeking an experienced HR professional to join our team to transform our ICT service across Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester Councils.
Cheshire West and Chester Council brings a fresh and energetic approach to providing top quality services for its many customers and communities. West Cheshire is a place where everyone can Thrive – through our core values of Teamwork, Honesty, Respect, Innovation, Value for Money and Empowerment.
The role of HR Lead presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join our busy OD & HR team at Cheshire West and Chester Council.
We’re on a journey of change with our ICT service; currently operating as a long established shared service, we’re transforming this to deliver this as two separate ICT functions and a smaller retained shared service across Cheshire East Council and Cheshire West and Chester Council. This is a significant transition for both Council’s and for the workforce that currently support them and we’re seeking a HR Lead for approximately 18 months (until 31st March 2025) to support the programme.
Working with our Programme Director and Programme Team, you will be expected to bring together key information and will help to shape the journey for our workforce, utilising your existing knowledge, skills and experience in employment law, policies and procedures and organisational development. The programme is working at pace to deliver both the technical and workforce aspects and you’ll be expected to deliver key tasks and information independently, with support from both Cheshire East and Cheshire West & Chester Council HR teams. You should ideally be CIPD Level 7 qualified with experience of working on the people aspects of change and transformation programmes.
The role is a fully agile worker, working from a home base with occasional visits to offices across Cheshire. Applications may also be considered to work less than 37 hours per week or on a more flexible basis.
For an informal discussion about the role feel free to contact Rosemary Hodgson, Strategic OD & HR Manager [email protected].
