Powersystems UK Ltd is an employee owned high voltage engineering company specialising in electrical power infrastructure, grid connections and renewable generation. Due to continuing success within these sectors we have a pipeline of work through into 2025 and beyond. This is a new role to support the recently appointed Head of Human Resources deliver exceptional support across a growing business.

Recruiting for: Human Resources Assistant

Salary £20,500 to £25,000 dependent on qualifications and experience

As HR Assistant you will support the Head of Human Resources and the wider business by the effective administration, co-ordination and facilitation of key HR activities.

Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide managers with support to effectively recruit within a growing business. This includes ensuring job descriptions are up to date , creating adverts, sifting candidates using our Applicant Tracking System, arranging interviews, providing feedback, dealing with recruitment agencies and assisting with offers of employment.
  • Assist with the onboarding process so our new team members feel welcomed into the business and have everything they need to thrive.
  • Maintain HR data with a high level of accuracy within HR Information System and spreadsheets.
  • Aid in the provision of excellent wellbeing initiatives across the business to ensure our team is at their best.
  • Support the annual appraisal process.
  • Co-ordinate training and development activities, in collaboration with the Safety, Health, Environment & Quality team.
  • Support the business with absence management administration.
  • Assist with the delivery of HR projects.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation in all areas of activity.
  • Proactively look at opportunities to improve the service offered to the business and the effectiveness / efficiency of our processes.
  • Provide data to support the HR function and business.
  • Maintain the business SharePoint to ensure that all information is up to date and relevant.
  • Liaise with payroll to ensure that employees are paid correctly.
  • Ensure that GDPR (data privacy) requirements are met within all areas of record keeping.
  • Effectively deal with enquiries, both internal and external.
  • Support the business with ad hoc tasks such as arranging events, creating communications for the business, taking notes in meetings including creating action plans and arranging meetings.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times.

    Heres what you need to be successful in the role:

  • Previous experience in an administration role.
  • Previous experience of working within Human Resources role is preferable.
  • A desire to develop a career with HR.
  • Proven ability to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Great customer service skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of people.
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Great communication skills, both written and orally.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise accordingly with sometimes a large workload.
  • Good IT skills, with knowledge of MS packages.
  • A team player that is self-motivated, with a confident and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Great organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
