Human Resources Assistant
Liverpool
Full-time 15 month contract
£14.71 per hour
The purpose of the role is:
– To assist in the provision of human resource duties for various customers.
– To be responsible for a personal caseload of human resource cases.
– To manage the end-to-end recruitment and redeployment processes.
- To assist in the provision of human resource services, comprising employee relations and recruitment/ redeployment. To provide advice on employment matters including employment law, policy implementation, disciplinary and grievance handling, sickness management and dispute resolution.
- To deliver end-to-end recruitment and redeployment support using the Connect2Recruit system and ensuring service level agreements are met and that relevant employment policies, procedures and legislation are adhered to.
- To interpret and explain policies and procedures, including Recruitment and Selection, Vacancy Management, Agency.
- Worker, Redeployment, Right to Work checks (including DBS, BPSS and Staff Vetting) for the benefit of managers and applicants.
- To use persuasion and negotiation skills to ensure that all policies, procedures, and processes are adhered to and used correctly.
- To liaise with a variety of internal and external customers, including job applicants, trade union representatives, representatives of external agencies (such as DBS and Matrix / neutral vendor) as required.
- Maintain accurate, electronic trackers and data management systems and submit relevant reports and statistical data as required.
- Manage a personal caseload of basic employee relations cases and projects (including sickness, discipline, grievance, performance, and flexible working) providing support for employees, managers and employee representatives which will be managed within prescribed timescales and service level agreements and in accordance with the relevant employment policies, procedure and legislation.
- Provide advice, guidance and support on all aspects of the recruitment and redeployment process (including the disclosure processes) and provide support to assessment processes as required, ensuring all materials are accurately prepared within agreed timescales.
- Where necessary support the attendance of team members at formal meetings, hearings and appeals and Employment Tribunals. Also to attend project meetings or groups with employees and/ or Trade Union representatives as part of the general consultation, negotiation, arbitration and improvement processes.
- Support colleagues in maintaining and reviewing the establishment of designated directorates and service areas.
- Support and guide colleagues as necessary in carrying out HR operational tasks.
- Prepare and provide detailed, high quality and relevant HR reports, information and advice for managers and colleagues.
