Brief Description


We are recruiting for 2 positions - HR Business Partner and HR Business Partner Support

Human Resources Business Partner

If you are passionate about empowering people to perform their best and support them through numerous challenges, this could be the role for you. Sitting within the Central Route HR team in the NW&C Region, this role offers the full Human Resources Business Partner remit, advising on organisational and structural change and performance and senior talent management activities, translating business needs into HR solutions. You will use business data and insight to inform the design, development and implementation of HR activities.

You will need to use your business partner expertise to gain credibility from day one, enabling you to operate as a member of the senior management team. You will be solutions-focused, able to deliver at pace and confident to challenge at senior levels.

Human Resources Business Partner Support

Sitting within the Central Route HR team in the NW&C Region, you will provide proactive, professional HR support to HR Business Partner team to enable the delivery of value-add HR support, especially for ER case management and the people plans for the supported organisation/s.





About the role (External)


Human Resources Business Partner

Key Accountabilities:

1. Partnering with managers to deliver operational people solutions, in conjunction with the Regional Functions HR team.

2. Delivering key people initiatives in line with the NW&C people plan.

3. Developing a detailed understanding of the function in order to make a full contribution to the management team on people-related business issues, which will include Safety and Performance.

4. Supporting and coach line managers on the interim and annual performance management, including but not limited to objective setting, development, ensuring early interventions are made regarding performance issues, including the use of performance improvement plans.

5. Co-ordinating and implementing organisational review and design principles to support our strategic objectives, mitigating IR risks, promoting engagement and embed relevant culture change.

6. Supporting the Head of HR in key strategic projects.

7. Producing the annual talent review, ensuring that talent review actions are actively reviewed and executed through the year.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Able to find creative solutions to complex problems
  • Excellent technical HR Knowledge
  • Experience in an HR Business Partner/ Operational HR role working in a large, complex, matrix organisation
  • Ability to operate independently with a wide breath of HR knowledge and good understanding of specialist HR areas
  • Passionate about customer service with ability to articulate achievements through business deliverables
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing best practice HR solutions to drive a high-performance culture
  • Confidently engaging with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels to generate commitment to goals. Showing you can be persuasive, bringing others round to your way of thinking and winning agreement for what you want to achieve.
  • Using sound judgement and knowledge to deliver business outcomes. Demonstrable planning and delivery skills.
  • Positively involved with change, advocating for change and making it happen.
  • Identifying the main issues in complex problems, clarifying understanding or stakeholder expectations, to seek best option.

Whilst it's not essential, we'd love it if you have:

  • An understanding of project management principles and experience of running complex projects to successful conclusion.
  • A CIPD/post-graduate human resources qualification.

Human Resources Business Partner Support

Key accountabilities

  • Provide proactive, professional HR Support to the HR Business Partner team/s and the business to facilitate the delivery of value add HR and the delivery of the people/HR plans.
  • Support HR Business Partner teams in Talent Management, Workforce and Succession Planning and performance planning, maintaining appropriate data within the associated process.
  • Provide support for Organisation Change programmes, through the full development and implementation phases.
  • Provide project management support to the HR Business Partner team, tracking, measuring and communicating through the project timeline.
  • Support the associated HR Business Partner team/s with research, reporting requirements, analysis and production of reports to support the implementation of HR initiatives.
  • Seeks, identifies and develops solutions to continuously improve the HR support to the business.
  • Maintains up to date professional HR knowledge to input into the development of both operational and value add HR initiatives.
  • Takes ownership for delivery of assigned work within HR programmes/initiatives.
  • Support the associated HR Business Partner team/s with ad hoc administrative and operational HR activity.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills.
  • Experience of working within a large, complex and fast moving organisation.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management, organisation and prioritisation skills and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

  • IT literate, strong excel, word and PowerPoint knowledge.
  • Experience of event coordination and facilitation.
  • Research and analytical skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Experience of supporting the delivery of HR initiatives and projects.

Whilst it's not essential, we'd love it if you are:

  • CIPD Qualified or have relevant HR Support experience.
  • Graduate calibre

Human Resources Business Partner: Band 4C: Starting at £41,711 and increasing to £46,925 per annum

Human Resources Business Partner Support: Band 5: £21,000 - £28,000 (experience dependant)
