Role purpose
A new opportunity has arisen within our Fibre Services Division. As an HSEQ Specialist you will be responsible for the detailed planning of changes impacting the Vodafone Network Fibre Layer to support Customer Delivery, Core Project Build, Maintenance and Diversionary Works requirements. You role will be essential to the safe building of our Networks and Keeping Customers Connected.
Responsibilities
Undertake inspection activities on both in progress and completed works, checking and reporting on compliance against the agreed scope, Vodafone specification and
HS&E requirements and the competence and qualifications of those undertaking the works.
Drive best practice and supplier performance both through the ownership and management of rectification of non-compliant works found during audits and the
analysis of wider compliance reports to identify shortfalls and improvements required.
Support project delivery and service restoration through consultation and where needed, site attendance.
Support assessment of new technologies in the fibre network
Create and undertake training of suppliers and Vodafone teams to improve performance or in support of new technologies
Where assigned and competent to do so, you will also undertake specialist direct works on the Vodafone Fibre Network as required.
Review daily planned works and schedule and complete HSEQ inspections of both in progress and completed works to meet KPI quotas and target your resource to improve performance, providing monthly analysis of results found.
Who are we looking for?
Expert knowledge of telecommunications installation practices, standards and legislation (civils, cable, splicing and testing)- Expert knowledge of New Roads and Streetworks Act and relevant codes of practice.
- Expert knowledge of HS&E monitoring, legislation, management and reporting processes.
- Good communicator, written and verbal and ability to engage with groups and individuals alike.
- Good IT skills – use of Office 365Applications and GIS inventory systems.
- NRSWA accredited, New Roads and Street Works Act, Supervisors and Operatives units passed
- IOSH, Construction Skills Certification Scheme accreditation or similar
- NEBOSH accredited
- Full UK driving licence.
