What does this role involve?
As the HSE Manager, you will be the subject matter expert for the company, you will lead a team of HSE Officers and have overall accountability for the process to keep our staff and customers safe
Day to day, you will;
- create, implement and review management systems in line with HSE and other relevant legislative requirements;
- design and enforce the company’s health, safety and welfare policies, standards, guidance, and systems;
- support the ongoing development of your team;
- carry out audits and inspections to ensure a safe working environment;
- identify hazards and mitigate, control, or reduce through effective risk assessments;
- manage escalated incidents in line with company policies and legislation, including reporting to and working with local authorities when required.
Who are we looking for?
As a proven HSE Manager, you will have experience supporting a variety of environments, such as; office, warehouse, retail and field.
Your certification in Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent (NVQ level 4), and being a member of NEBOSH or a similar HS&E governing body, will give you the ability to hit the ground running.
Your expert-level understanding of HSE legislation including Acts, Regulations, Approved Codes of Practice and Best Practices, will mean that you can quickly become productive within this position.
Your previous line management experience will give you the knowledge you need to support a team from day one.
You will need to hold a valid UK driving license and be prepared to travel nationwide to Utilita offices.
