A bit about us…
The Human Resources (HR) and Organisational Development (OD) function has committed to the delivery of several key strategic projects, all of which are aligned to the University’s Strategic Plan. These projects support the delivery of our University People Plan which focuses on key goals around Wellbeing, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), and driving high performance.
As part of this plan, one of the major pieces of work we are about to embark on is the refresh of all our HR and Payroll systems. With a lot of legacy applications and a lot of weird and wonderful ways of working to unpick, this is an enormous project for us – not only in the delivery of the technical implementation, but also in the level of behavioural change a new system will demand from our colleagues. Whilst the outcome of the project aims to deliver huge benefits and offer a massive reduction in the administrative burden across the University, we know it is going to be a massive undertaking with a lot of obstacles to overcome along the way.
The HR Systems team will sit centrally to this programme of work and will be tasked with a lot of activity in preparation for the change – data quality, data migration and ongoing configuration and maintenance of the new systems to name a few areas!
This is an ambitious project which is definitely going to test our resilience.
The role
Reporting to the HR Systems Team Lead, this role will not only support our journey to the delivery of this critical project, but also be responsible for managing the day to day activity and maintenance of our current systems prior to migration. Our current platforms include SAP and SAP Success Factors so if you have experience with these solutions you will be off to a good start! You will need to be extremely customer focused to ensure our colleagues are using our current systems in the most effective way possible, and that the data we hold is accurate and safe.
That brings us onto the data - your passion in this space will be infectious and you will demonstrate this through your previous experience with HR/data systems and your Excel wizardry! You will need to have a keen eye for detail and be obsessive around accuracy!
The benefits of working here
This is going to be an incredibly challenging project for us all, but the rewards will be huge. Not only will you have the satisfaction of helping to deliver this game changing piece of work, you can also benefit from all this too:
- Competitive salary - and excellent defined benefit pension scheme.
- Free Christmas annual leave - extra free days off at Christmas during the University shutdown
- Professional development - a comprehensive package of personal development opportunities to help you achieve your full potential.
- Discounts, discounts, and more discounts! – take full advantage of working in Higher Education and use your Totum student discount card to get money off your favourite things all along the high street
- Wellbeing support - dedicated services and facilities to support your mental and physical health, ranging from an Employee Assistance Programme and counselling to sports and fitness facilities, including discounted gym memberships.
- Greater Manchester - Live and work in one of the most vibrant regions in the UK, a hot spot of digital innovation, excellent schools, and colleagues, and with affordable city, suburban and rural living options to suit a wide range of lifestyle choices.
However you identify, whatever your pathway has been to get here, come and join us at the University of Salford where we are all proud to belong watch us in action here!
What’s next?
This opportunity is for a full time, fixed term position which will currently run until December 2023. Applications will close on the 11th June with interviews taking place on the 15th June 2023.
This role will include a mixture of working on-campus and home working. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account.
