About the Role

Are you ready to join British Airways' exciting journey towards Colleague Centricity? We are thrilled to invite you to join our HR Information Systems & Continuous Improvement team in the newly formed Colleague Services Directorate. This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal part in our vision of creating a service environment that our colleagues value.

As a HR Systems and Process Improvement Consultant, you will be aligned to a system or a group of systems and you will collaborate closely with System Owners and our wider People Team to bring the People Strategy to life. Your responsibilities will involve supporting essential people processes and driving improvements and changes in both processes and system specifications. This position offers a phenomenal opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of the entire employee life cycle. Key duties

  • Plan and project manage small, medium, and large-scale changes to HR systems.
  • Seek opportunities to develop and improve HR systems and processes.
  • Create and update system processes, procedures, and support documentation for any changes to HR systems.
  • Partner with HR Systems Product Owners, system developers and support teams and wider People directorate to ensure alignment and knowledge transfer

About You

We are looking for candidates who possess the following skills and capabilities, although we champion the potential for growth and development in every team member:

  • Natural Problem Solver: You're naturally curious and excel at translating business requirements into effective system and process solutions. Your keen attention to detail, combined with strong numeric skills, ensures precision in tasks and data analysis.
  • Complex Issue and Project Management: You have a proven ability to thrive under pressure, quickly grasp and handle complex issues, and deliver successful outcomes. You also have practical expertise in project control and planning techniques, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Technologically Minded: You have a keen interest in systems and process mapping. You are a confident user of Microsoft Applications, and any basic coding skills would be a bonus.
  • Communication and Influencing: As a self-starter, you possess strong communication skills and well-developed influencing abilities, which are invaluable for effective stakeholder management.

The following qualifications and experience are desirable:

  • Proficiency in relevant HR Systems and a deep understanding of the business processes supporting the employee life cycle.
  • Experience of working with systems and/or systems management.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies, such as Lean.
  • A background in STEM subjects, ideally at the degree level or equivalent.
  • CIPD/CIPP certification.
