Job Title: Human Resources Specialist
Reports to: VP of Finance
Job Summary: The Human Resources Specialist will be the face of Payroll, Benefits, and all things related to Human Resources. A people centric employee who has the skills to wear many hats and juggle sensitive related details with ease. The HR Specialist will oversee all payroll operations, be the point of contact for benefits, and have oversight to all related HR items. This person will love people, but also love the Employee Handbook!
Essential Functions:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual with this position in our company will be expected, on a regular basis, to:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for 130 employees – timecards, time off, new hires, terminations, child support, uniform deductions, 401k processes
- Recruit, hire and onboard new employees via ADP or similar HRIS system
- Administer employee benefit plans
- Reports – OSHA, ACA, EEO
- Performance Management – 90-day check ins and yearly reviews
- Organize H2B/H2A documents and processes
- Update Handbooks ensuring compliance
- Other essential functions as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
- Human Resources Software (HRIS) and Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of compliance standards for payroll processes
- Personnel and HR – knowledge of principles and procedures; keeping strict confidence sensitive material
- Ability to conduct interviews in a fair manner and make recommendations to hire
- Provide employee training on HRIS and other items related to HR
- Personable and friendly desire to serve all employees
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience
Experience: 3-5 years experience with ADP or other HRIS
Licenses/Certifications: SHRM preferred, but not required
Conditions of Employment:
Candidates may be asked to pass a drug test, and/or background check, depending on location and approval to driving privileges.
