About The Role

To support us in driving efficiencies and best practice, we have created a new role for a Human Resources (HR) Specialist to join our HR team on a fixed term basis of up to 8 weeks, full time or part time applicants will be considered. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role will be working to support the HR team in reviewing and implementing HR processes and practices in our Gamston office across both Thatcham Research and Gamston Aviation Limited.

Join us as an HR Specialist and you will be supporting the evolution of the HR operational function across our two business’ based in the Gamston office. Once reviewed processes, you will provide guidance to the team on the application of HR policies, processes, and frameworks, ensuring that all standards and legislation is adhered to. You will also play a crucial role in developing and empowering our managers to make effective people decisions that are consistent with our frameworks, culture, and values.

This role would suit a highly organised HR professional with excellent knowledge and experience of relevant legislation and HR best practice, who wants the opportunity get experience in a varied and exciting environment and is up for a challenge. As the Human Resources Specialist your responsibilities will involve:

  • Review and ensure HR policies, procedures and frameworks are implemented and that they are being consistently applied
  • Implementation of contract harmonisation
  • Providing advice and guidance to managers on people matters
  • Coaching and training managers in recruitment activity to ensure legal and robust processes are in place
  • Supporting workforce planning and organisational change activity.

As the Human Resources Specialist your skills and experience will include:

  • Ability to quickly understand the company, values, and business strategy
  • A great level of HR knowledge, UK employment law and experience as a HR Generalist
  • Experience of managing and supporting recruitment and related processes
  • Good understanding of employee relations
  • CIPD qualified, desirable
  • Previous experience in inhouse coaching, desirable.

You are a confident, assertive, and clear communicator, with a natural ability to facilitate collaboration and provide constructive challenge. You enjoy supporting and coaching others to solve challenges and drive efficiencies, while your attention to detail is complemented by your efficient planning and organisational skills. Having the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Location: Gamston, Nottinghamshire.

Salary: Circa £52,300 (Pro rata) negotiable based on skills/experience.

Working Hours: 9.00–17.00 Monday–Friday on a full-time basis
