We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Employee Relations Specialist to support the company with all employee relations matters in line with best practices and legal requirements across UK and Europe.


The role will sit as part of a UK team consisting of: the Head of HR (EMEA), 2x HRBP’s (based in the UK and SA and 2x HR Advisors (based in the UK and SA).


What you will be doing:


  • Leading on complex ER cases including disciplinary, grievances, TUPE, and restructuring.
  • Advising all employees, specifically Managers and Directors on general queries regarding HR issues and ensuring procedures are followed correctly.
  • Provide ongoing management briefing and coaching to ensure adherence to best practices in the management of ER-related issues.
  • Using HR data to produce ad hoc reports to support the need for HR initiatives and interventions as needed.
  • Supporting the Head of HR with deploying the HR agenda, strategies, policies, and best practices.
  • Bringing people expertise and developing solutions to help the business area to deliver its strategy.
  • Influencing and building relationships with key stakeholders at all levels across the business.
  • Any other duties reasonably required.


You’ll be someone with:


  • A good working knowledge of employment legislation and HR processes with ER Casework experience.
  • Good level of commercial awareness and ability to align with the business strategy.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Experience building effective relationships and strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and strong time management skills.
  • Part or full CIPD qualification is desirable although not essential.


Who you are:


  • Proven work experience in an Employee Relations role.
  • Understanding of all HR functions and best practices.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to handle sensitive issues and to build relationships at all levels in the business with diplomacy.
  • Word and Excel preferably to an intermediate level
