Job description
Key information
More than just a job
When you join BU, you become a part of a learning community that strives to make an impact on the world around us – aiming for a more sustainable, inclusive and healthy society. Our motto is to learn is to change and it's a principle that runs through everything we do. By joining us you will be provided with opportunities in your personal and professional development to help you thrive and achieve your full potential.
The opportunity
We are seeking a full-time HR Services Adviser on an established basis. As a member of the HR Services team, you will work flexibly as part of a team and be responsible for the delivery of a high-quality Human Resources service across the University. The team operates across a wide-span of activity and whilst there is always the need for cross-team working, your main focus will be on one of the following: effectively coordinating and managing the full recruitment and selection process; employment lifecycle transactions, including the completion of all administration relating to these workflows and monitoring monthly reporting; or management of the part time hourly paid employment process.
About you
You will have relevant experience of Human Resources and you will also have significant experience of undertaking complex transactional administrative work in a busy office, including substantial experience of high-volume data entry in a HR/Payroll system. You will possess excellent time management, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure and with attention to detail. You will be able to work flexibly as part of the team that supports the delivery of an excellent and proactive service in line with operational deadlines and priorities. Above all else you will have the passion and enthusiasm for creating a great staff experience and positively supporting a culture of high performance, staff engagement, experience, and wellbeing.
Why join us?
We’re proud to say that BU is a diverse and inclusive place to work, study and visit. We actively support and enable our employees to achieve a balance between work and their personal lives.
We are committed to inspiring and developing our employees and recognise that benefits, both financial and non-financial, are an important and valuable aspect of the total reward package. We have lots to offer including a competitive salary, opportunity for pay progression and cost of living increases, good holiday entitlement, flexi-time scheme and a generous defined benefit pension scheme to which BU makes a substantial contribution.
We also recognise that wellbeing is of paramount importance, and you would be able to access a comprehensive wellbeing programme and a free and confidential independent support service 24/7. We offer many family-friendly benefits such as generous maternity, paternity and adoption leave provisions and support for carers.
