The Standalone HR Officer will work closely with senior managers to develop an HR agenda that supports overall organisation goals. They provide strategic input and solutions to ultimately create a nurturing work environment, in alignment with business needs.
We are looking for a qualified HR Officer to oversee all human resources operations and ensure they’re aligned with our business goals.
You should have excellent people management skills and be able to address employee relations issues and grievances in a timely manner. You should be able to interpret business metrics and are able to suggest effective and creative ways to develop your organization.
You should have solid experience with HR practices and employee management. You will communicate with the board of directors and with Senior Managers to express new ideas and suggest solutions, considering budget limitations and our company culture.
Ultimately, you should be able to act as a consultant on human resources management and organisational changes.
Responsibilities
· Consult with line management and provide daily HR guidance
· Analyse trends and metrics, and provide insight to benefit the company
· Resolve complex employee relations issues and address grievances utilising and managing the disciplinary, grievance and performance management processes where necessary.
· Ensuring that all HR documentation is organised and up to date, this includes personnel records on our internal HR System
· Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention
· Monitor and report on workforce and succession planning
· Identify and develop training needs for teams and individuals
· Evaluate training programs
· Suggest new HR strategies
· Update and develop HR policies, procedures and processes in line with best practice and legislation changes
· Be the first point of contact for all line managers on all employee issues and employment law queries.
· Support new starter induction processes including chase and completing references
· Support the leaver process
· Ensure all aspects of HR Admin, including HR letters and recording annual leave are being managed real time.
· Prepare timely HR Statistics and reports.
· Support the Managing Director in a Variety of initiatives and Projects
· The successful candidate will also be required to undertake other ad-hoc duties as required
Requirements
· Proven work experience as an HR Officer
· Excellent people management skills
· Analytical and goal oriented
· Demonstrable experience with HR metrics
· Thorough knowledge of labour legislation
· Full understanding of all HR functions and best practices
· You work with the highest level of discretion
· Strong commitment to understanding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Qualifications
· Educated to degree level or equivalent
· CIPD qualifications are an advantage but not necessity
Experience
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a HR officer or similar role
· Must have a good understanding of relevant employment law legislation
· Experience of independently managing disciplinary, grievance and performance related issues
· Experience of conducting formal meetings
· Experience of dealing with ER case work
· Experience of adding value and actively managing business-related projects and initiatives
· Strong IT skills: word, Excel and HR Systems, knowledge of People HR would be a distinct advantage
· Ability to manage and prioritise own workload and meet set deadlines
· You are confident to express your opinions and thoughts whilst remaining respectful of others
· You have excellent people skills, and have a history of building strong relations with colleagues
· Your enthusiastic about the organisation and happy to go the extra mile for your colleagues
· You are able to work and effectively communicate with all levels of staff within the organisation
· To ensure personnel records are kept up to date and in line with legislation and GDPR requirement
· To provide recruitment support; with advertisements, the booking of interviews, collating new starter packs, arranging inductions and liaising with recruitment agencies.
· To work alongside Supervisors to ensure that absence, time-keeping and probationary periods are managed effectively
· Supporting to keep job descriptions up to date.
· Supporting a strategic approach to training, development and performance management.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £30,000.00 per year
