HR Officer (Maternity Cover up to a year).

We are looking for an experienced confident HR Officer to be part of the onsite HR team, responsible for the day to day running of the HR department to include administration duties, payroll involvement, attendance management working with occupational health, liaising with employees and management staff, recruitment and selection and induction.

Location: Wigan (WN5 0LB)
Working hours: Part-Time – 4 days a week, 8:30am-5pm (34 hours can be flexible)

Agrial Fresh Produce Wigan produces ready to eat bagged salads and is one of three UK food manufacturing factories who are owned by the French co-operative group Agrial. Agrial has operations across 18 regions with 280 farming outlets and it’s not just about lettuce!

We have had an onsite permanent Occupational Health service for over 10 years and value the expertise, support and care it provides to our colleagues. The role works alongside the HR team and an onsite physio service.
Main Responsibilities
- First point of contact for HR to manager and staff on day-to-day basis.
- Operate and improve absence management system – recommend and be involved in organising occupational health appointments and ill health meetings as required.
- Day to day maintenance of the HR management system as required.
- Process leavers – issues termination form, employment proposal form, acknowledgements of resignation, conduct exit interview and notify the Payroll Co-Ordinator.
- Produce HR update communications and maintain social media group.
- General compilation of letters.
- Produce monthly statistical data for the HR Manager.
- Support managers in delivering disciplinaries/grievances/sickness absence/policies and procedures.
- Payroll delivery support through Mitrefinch system
- Delivery of our Community agenda throughout staff volunteering days – organising and communicating all opportunities.
Qualifications
- Educated to A-level standard or equivalent.
- Basic Food Hygiene.
Knowledge & Experience
- Knowledge of basic employment law.
- Experience in a HR role for at least 2 years
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Approachable and friendly
