Overview of the role
Reporting into the Senior People Partner for Wholesale & Central, you'll own the delivery of the Wholesale People Plan within your depots. You will be influential in driving all people and organisation-related programmes and initiatives in the business function, including but not limited to, organisational design, performance and talent management, succession planning, and change management.
This is a field-based role covering East Kilbride, Durham, Leeds and Redditch with occasional visits to the site in Dublin. Frequency of site visits will be discussed at interview.
The role is hybrid working with 3 days in the office or on-site visits, and 2 days working from home.
Main Responsibilities
- Working in partnership with the Wholesale People Partner team as well as in close collaboration with your stakeholders and management teams to ensure delivery of the people plan within your area.
- Review people KPIs for your area, translating data into commercial focused recommendations and influencing change to meet the functional needs of your area.
- Manage essential and effective relationships with SME's across the People team and Support Centre functions (ER, People Development, Resourcing) to ensuring delivery commercially sound professional advice to your business areas.
- Develop strong partnering relationships with the key stakeholders to diagnose, develop and implement effective people strategies which support the functional goals and drive sustained performance.
- Collaborate with senior managers to assess learning and development needs, work with People Development to develop strategies to address them effectively.
- Provide advice and guidance on action plans to support retention and development of high potential individuals.
- Develop robust succession plans with actions clearly identified and planned for.
- Work closely with the Resourcing Advisor and team to ensure all vacancies are filled as efficiently as possible.
- Take ownership of relevant project work and day-to-day operational needs, utilising your expertise and experience to deliver effective outcomes.
- Support the ER with complex case management across your area.
- Actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement and proactively designs pragmatic solutions.
- Actively champion & land transformational change, ensuring successful implementation & delivery of business benefits.
- Build and maintain excellent professional HR insight and takes steps to capitalise on opportunities.
Key knowledge and skills required for the role:
- CIPD qualified (level 5 minimum)
- Experience of working within a HRBP/people partner/HR advisor role in a fast paced environment (warehousing/distribution environment is desirable)
- Previous experience of dealing with matters such as organisation design, HR projects, change management and complex ER cases
- Strong knowledge of employment law and associated best practices
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with confidence to liaise with management at all levels of the business
- Experience of coaching and advising line managers
- Strong experience of working in partnership with leaders and colleagues to drive results
