TruFrame are the largest independent fabricator of the Liniar window profile in the UK. We operate out of a 60,000 square foot state-of-the-art factory on the outskirts of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.
Role outline:
The HR Officer will take responsibility for family-related matters, disciplinaries, absence review meetings, some health-related matters, probation meetings, performance issues and other employment relation cases.
The HR Officer will also be expected to take an active role in supporting the HR Department across a range of HR-related activities which will include areas such as health surveillance, some payroll administration, letter writing (to a high standard), as well as other HR projects.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- To provide legal advice to the management team (where applicable)
- To take ownership for a new business unit (solely operational)
- To ensure that absence review and disciplinary meetings are organised and that all relevant paperwork is completed
- To schedule absence review and disciplinary meetings, and provide HR advice to mangers (including coaching and mentoring)
- To manage and advise on employment relation cases (as and when required)
- To manage probationary reviews and performance matters, and issue correspondence letters
- To take ownership for the ‘HR Action Log’ on a twice daily basis which will ensure that the HR Department is responsive to all required HR tasks
- To ensure that weekly administration is saved on the HR system and any destroy paper copies immediately (in line with GDPR legislation)
- To manage all family related matters (e.g. maternity cases, paternity cases, etc.)
- To work with the Senior HR Officer on dealing with staff absences and health related matters (as and when required)
- Review current HR policies and procedures across the business, and implement new policies (as and when required)
- To undertake monthly return to work audits
- To undertake payroll administration with the HR Assistant
- To manage the Company’s health surveillance, which includes monitoring/ actioning staff’s medical assessments on a monthly basis and issuing outcome reports
- To attend CIPD and e-learning events and implement in practice what is learnt (where applicable)
- To undertake HR-related activities/ projects (as and when required)
Person specification:
- Genuine interest in Human Resources, best practice and improvement initiatives
- Previous experience in a fast paced HR environment (minimum of two years’ experience)
- Degree qualified/ CIPD qualified
- Highest standard of written English and good proof-reading skills
- Ability to communicate clearly at all levels
- Excellent organisation, communication and inter-personal skills
- Effective team member who is both flexible and dependable
- Ability to use initiative and make decisions in a confident manner
- Ability to work to tight deadlines (accurately and quickly)
- Ability to effectively multitask
- Excellent time management skills
