As a HR Professional working on site at Royal Stoke Hospital you’ll have a positive impact on ensuring our people processes are maintained to the highest standard and our managers are supported throughout all employee relations issues.
You will be responsible for providing an effective, efficient and professional HR service to the business, working closely with the HRBP and the Operations team. You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in delivering projects inline with our People Plan such as employee engagement, organisational changes, and workforce planning.
This is a hands-on role based on site engaging with our employees, client, and trade unions to build strong working relationships and promote best practice.

Main ResponsibilitiesWhat You’ll Do
- Ensure effective HR processes are put in place and followed for new starter recruitment, leavers, casual’s absence and employee relations issues
- Monitor Right to Work in the UK, monitor absence, DBS and Occupational Health checks in line with policy and procedures
- Signpost the Operations and Management team to utilise the People Centre on appropriate matters
- Support with the development of the onsite HR Team
- Support and coach managers where appropriate at all employee relations case meetings including dismissals and appeals.
- Assist the HRBP with any HR projects, restructures, retention initiatives and employee engagement.
- Support managers with engagement, workforce planning and other People activities for the site.
- Produce regular reports and provide insight to the business
- Work with the resourcing team to understand local labour markets to improve delivery of resourcing solutions and achieve KPI’s
- Work with line managers to identify key talent and devise plans to retain within the business
- Continuously monitor and ensure that HR data is followed up on by the Operations team
- Engage, influence and challenge business managers in the implementation of business strategy
- Work with HRBP to design and deliver coaching solutions to line managers on ER issues for improved handling of cases
What You Bring
- CIPD qualified or equivalent experience in a generalist HR role, desirable to have experience in a healthcare setting
- Proven leadership capabilities with a people orientated approach
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
- Good working knowledge of HR systems and databases
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office or related software
- Experience in working within a unionised environment
