Passenger Team
Full Time Bournemouth, England 10.56 - 12.04 GBP Today
Job description

Role Purpose
At Passenger we build technology for good and we are seeking a like minded HR Manager who is looking to deliver a positive impact on the world around us.

You will be responsible for making sure that the HR function is always customer focused, delivering a good service to Passenger and its people.

With an exciting growth plan ahead, the ultimate aim is to deliver on our mission statement “We build technology to power sustainable transport connecting people and their communities” and to create a high performance culture, promoting both personal and team growth.

Who you are
Expert in your field
An experienced HR generalist, you have a great working knowledge of Employee Relations and can own the employee life cycle from first touch, onboarding and employee pastoral care, right through to offboarding.

Continuous Improver
CPD isn’t just an acronym for you, but a way of life and you like to bring people on the learning journey with you.

People person
You’re good with people, be that in person, on the phone or by email! You’re comfortable working with both internal and external stakeholders, understanding which medium is the best to get the information you need with as little pain as possible.

Planner
You’re keen to plan before acting, knowing that most projects have more than one moving part so keen to draw out the details before choosing how best to attack.

Collaborator
You know that some projects will be “all you”, while others will require delegation of tasks and help from others. You’re able to clearly communicate your needs, priority and value when asking for help, and able to motivate others to deliver with more carrot than stick.

Eye for detail
You read the small print and comment when things don’t make sense or need clarification. You’re good at the seemingly small stuff, you’re quick to file things and can both follow and adapt processes, as you go.

In addition, you align with our Company values of:

Integrity and courage - Making the right decision when no one's looking.
Knowledge - Learning and teaching are equally important - every day’s a school day.
Empathy and inclusivity - We connect with people to see things through their eyes.
Excellence - In how we work and what we create.
Collaboration and teamwork - By working together we can build a better world.

This is a wide reaching role, here are just some of the key responsibilities:

  • Own the employee life cycle - from first touch, onboarding and employee pastoral care, right through to offboarding.
  • To monitor staff turnover and ensure that exit interviews are carried out, analysing and reporting on findings.

  • Working with line managers and department heads to advise and support on all Employee Relations issues, including performance management, CPD, reviews and sickness & absence etc.
  • Monitoring, updating and advising employees on HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are adhered to and effectively communicated across the organisation.
  • Making recommendations on best practice and legislation to the organisation.
  • Manage and maintain the HRIS system (we use BreatheHR).
  • Manage training programmes using our L&D platform to help upskill and retain staff.
  • Manage our quarterly review practices to make sure both parties are able to receive and react to feedback, aligning business objectives to employee’s personal objectives.
  • Championing and managing our employee benefits suite.
  • Championing Passenger as a brand and great place to work.
  • Identify opportunities for team building events that don’t feel like organised fun!

  • Excellent up to date knowledge of UK employment law legislation.
  • Good knowledge of policies and procedures related to an HR Function.
  • Excellent competency, interviewing and selection skills.
  • Previous background within a generalist HR Function.

  • Delivery focused with the ability to prioritise and organise workload.
  • A proactive and can-do approach towards work tasks.
  • Numerate and financially aware with the ability to produce reports and statistics as required.
  • Open communication style, with ability to communicate at all levels in an organisation.

What we offer
