Human Resources Manager
Fixed Term Contract (18 Months)
Banbury, OX16 4XS

Job Summary:

As the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the HR function within our organization in compliance with UK employment laws and regulations. Your role will encompass a wide range of HR activities, including recruitment, talent management, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation, benefits administration, and compliance. You will play a crucial role in fostering a positive work environment, ensuring employee engagement, and promoting a culture that aligns with the company’s values and objectives.

This role focuses on deeply understanding then aligning key business and people strategies, practices and processes. Managing the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies and programs for the company and its’ employees.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:

- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and hire top talent.

- Coordinate the hiring process, including job postings, interviewing, and selection of candidates to ensure candidate suitability.

- Collaborate with department heads to identify current and future staffing needs.

- Prepare and review employment offer letters for all new hires.

- Manage the employee onboarding.

- Update and maintain job descriptions.

- Identify and contract with outside vendors to provide employee services, search firms, etc.

2. Employee Relations and Engagement:

- Promote a positive work culture and maintain a productive and supportive work environment.

- Address employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary issues promptly and impartially.

- Monitor employee morale and implement initiatives to improve engagement and retention.

- Conducts HR investigations (i.e. policy violations, employee relations matters) and makes recommendations for action and approval within legislative frameworks.

- Advise and prepare all employee separation notices and related documentation.

- Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to identify areas for improvement.

3. Performance Management:

- Manage the annual performance review process, providing guidance to managers and employees.

- Assist in the development of performance improvement plans and support managers in addressing performance issues.

- Ensure performance metrics are aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.

4. Training and Development:

- Identify training needs within the organization and design relevant development programs.

- Coordinate and deliver training sessions on various HR topics and compliance matters.

- Support career development and succession planning initiatives.

5. Compensation and Benefits:

- Oversee the administration of employee compensation, benefits, and incentive programs.

- Conduct salary benchmarking and stay updated with market trends to ensure competitive compensation packages.

- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to employee compensation and benefits.

6. HR Policies and Compliance:

- Develop and update HR policies and procedures in line with UK employment laws and regulations.

- Ensure the company’s compliance with employment legislation and data protection regulations.

- Keep abreast of changes in employment laws and advise the management team accordingly.

7. HR Reporting and Data Analysis:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and databases.

- Generate HR reports and metrics to support strategic decision-making.

- Analyze HR data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

8. Employee Health and Safety:

- Oversee the Health & Safety Committee.

- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

- Implement health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with UK laws.

9. HR Strategy and Planning:

- Support the Company with the creation, execution and evaluation of HR strategies that align with the company's overall goals.

- Collaborate with senior management and Directors to forecast HR needs and develop long-term workforce plans.

Academic/Educational Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field is required.

- CIPD Level 5

Required Skills/Experience:

- At least 5 years of progressive experience in HR management.

- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment an asset

- Comprehensive knowledge of UK employment laws and regulations

- High level of knowledge and skill in employment relations and legislation

- Strong understanding of HR best practices and industry trends.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

- Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, performance management, and employee relations.

- Proficient in HR-related software

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

- Professional manner

- Must be able to work effectively with other internal departments

- Strong Microsoft Office skills and able to produce professional looking documents

Working Hours and Benefits

· Working Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 4.45pm
