Job description
Receives general supervision from the Personnel Management Deputy Director May assist in the conduct of new employee orientation programs; explain personnel polices and procedures and benefit programs; respond to employee questions. Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of personnel management.
Knowledge of city personnel programs, polices and procedures. Principles and practices of statistical analysis and research. Methodologies used in job analysis. Principles of test development, administration and validation.
Ability to understand the organization and operation of the city and outside agencies as related to the personnel management function. Develop and administer employment tests and exams.
Experience: Two years of professional personnel management experience comparable to that of a Human Resource Officer I in the City of Jackson.
Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in personnel management, business or public administration or a related field.
