The AP seeks a Global Human Resources (HR) Manager to serve as a strategic thought partner to assigned business units and to execute on HR related deliverables that align with strategic business initiatives.
This position is based in New York, NY and will work a hybrid schedule.
This is an exciting time of transformation for the HR team, and we are seeking someone with a desire to develop innovative approaches in support of this transformation. The Global Employee and Labor Relations team is responsible for translating business objectives to human capital strategies in support of organizational goals. The HR Manager will be a hands-on individual contributor in support of these goals and AP’s overall mission. Working in partnership across the HR function, this role will provide support and guidance to management and staff on a wide range of HR related disciplines including employee and labor relations, performance & talent management, organizational design, recruiting, compensation, and learning & development.
The successful candidate will be an effective relationship builder at all levels of the organization; have a proactive approach and exercise sound judgment with the ability to influence both leadership and line staff to manage risk while providing a positive employee experience. Building and maintaining knowledge of the business, short- and long-term plans and culture of assigned business units will be a key to success. Creative conflict resolution is a must.
Key responsibilities:
Consult with management for assigned business units with a strategic business-focused mindset to help translate business objectives to human capital strategies
Provide support to employees and partner with the HR team on planning and delivering programs and services to the business
Provide proactive and strategic guidance and support for organizational planning and development initiatives
Work with management to build effective organizations and manage change
Develop management through ongoing coaching and feedback on personal and team performance
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations; follow up with outside counsel as needed
Support the implementation of talent and succession planning as well as development plans
Provide support on merit planning and out of cycle compensation decisions
Support diversity and inclusion programs to build cultural competence
Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies
Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance
Create and facilitate presentations for training and coaching managers on HR initiatives
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have seven (7+) years of progressive human resources experience including three (3+) years as a business partner supporting a global client base across multiple international geographies and cultures
BS/BA or equivalent experience required
Labor relations knowledge and experience solving complex employee relations issues
Knowledge of employment law and general compliance on a global scale
The candidate must have exceptional communication skills, coupled with strong analytical and consulting skills
Candidate must be able to manage relationships remotely and have previous experience supporting clients and employee base in off-site locations
Experience supporting global finance, revenue, legal and technology organizations is a plus
Strong presentation skills desired
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to translate ideas/concepts into creative documents and presentations is required
Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required. Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is mandatory.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000 — contingent on experience and other job-related factors. Employees are eligible to participate, according to the terms of the official plan documents, in a 401(k) plan, employer-sponsored health insurance plan, and are eligible for paid time off and holidays in accordance with AP policy.
