HR Intern (12-month placement) Vacancy

Kane HR is a rapidly growing HR Consultancy, renowned for its delivery of outsourced HR support to a varied portfolio of clients and industries.

We have an excellent opportunity here at Kane HR for an HR Intern to gain a valuable insight into the functioning of a busy role with HR at its core. We are looking for someone who wants to build a broad experience within the wider HR function, as you will play a pivotal role within the team, whilst learning along the way.

About the Role

· As an HR intern, you will be responsible for providing day to day support to the internal KaneHR team and clients as required.

· You will be responsible for maintaining and updating employee records for clients, ensuring information is up to date and accurate.

· You will be required to review, maintain and update new and existing policies and handbooks in line with client requirements and legislative changes.

· You will support the wider team to carry out ad hoc projects for clients including benchmarking exercises, performance management system development, staff communications, compliance research; training programmes and other ad hoc work as required.

· You will assist the wider team with new starter processes for clients; including drafting the relevant documentation, maintaining probation records, and proactively chasing and logging the return of signed contracts and other documents as required.

· You will assist the wider team with leaver processes for clients; including drafting relevant documentation, updating the relevant HR systems, calculating outstanding holiday, reviewing HR documentation to ensure correct leaver details, including notice periods and outstanding holiday are reflected in the documentation.

· You will be required to prepare reports for the senior team (for example; sickness absence reports, new starter and leaver reports and annual leave reports).

· You will assist in the screening of candidates for potential job vacancies, organising and conducting initial screening calls, and arranging invitations to interviews.

· You will be required to answer the main telephone line and transfer the caller to the correct person/department.

· You will assist in the drafting and posting of social media content.

About You

This role will suit an individual who has an interest in learning more about HR. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, both in written and verbal form and will have an ability to establish credibility and relationships quickly. Although previous work experience and/or HR administration experience would be preferable, it is not essential.

· Meticulous attention to detail

· Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

· Excellent written skills - able to draft and publish short LinkedIn posts and create articles on key topics of interest

· Excellent time management skills – able to keep accurate time logs of any work completed.

· Undertaking or recently completed a university degree (or equivalent) in a business-focused /psychology discipline is preferable, although other disciplines would be considered.

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with an expected or gained minimum 2.1 degree classification.
