A look into the role
Working with our HR team, you will provide a comprehensive, professional and customer focused HR service to employees and managers on operational requirements and business plan objectives.
You will be the professional point of technical expertise for line management in matters of HR policy and ‘best practice’ and employment law, providing advice and guidance as required to ensure the Company meets its employment obligations.
Working as an HR Advisor you will:
- Handle Employment Relation cases including supporting disciplinary and grievance hearings, assisting with managing sickness absence monitoring, handling tribunal claims from start to end, and providing support during periods of business restructuring (redundancies, TUPE, working practices etc.)
- Work with L&D on people management training solutions
- Support the Talent Acquisition Specialist and Hiring Manager with recruitment and selection campaigns in terms of advertising, shortlisting, attending interview panels etc.
- Contribute to the development of effective employee communications
- Contribute to the promotion of equality of opportunity within the Company and assist the HR Manager with the implementation of relevant equality legislation
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of effective people information via HR Systems e.g manpower, absence, turnover etc.
- Coach and counsel line managers to be effective People Managers inspiring them with confidence to handle employee relations matters
- To undertake projects in key HR areas as agreed with the People Services Manager.
Skills for Success
Working as our HR Advisor the minimum criteria you’ll need is:
- A minimum of 2 Years’ experience of confidently operating in an HR Advisory role within a fast-paced, customer focused environment
- CIPD qualified (or working towards)
- Competent standard of employment law knowledge and ability to transfer into practice
- Full, clean driving license and access to your own vehicle.
The attributes you’ll need include:
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
- Effective communication skills, confident with people at all levels
- Ability to work flexibly to meet deadlines and business needs.
- Strong organisational skills and focus on accuracy.
It is Desirable if you had:
- Experience within the retail / FMCG / logistics sector

This is a full-time position with contracted hours of 36.5 hours per week. Standard working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday. We offer a Flexible Hours Working scheme with (subject to team rota) core hours of Mon-Thurs (9:30-15:45 and Fri 9:30-15:00) and hybrid working (3 days on-site/2 remote).
