Mercury Hampton has been exclusively retained to manage the recruitment of a HR Generalist for a Nottingham based manufacturer of specialist engineering products – they need an experienced HR professional to manage their HR department. They’re a long-established SME with a people oriented culture, friendly teams and exciting growth plans. They’re also part of a larger group of companies, as a result you will deliver an autonomous HR / People & Culture service to multiple UK entities, with support from group HQ.

The HR Generalist Role & Responsibilities:

• Oversee recruitment, onboarding & probation periods
• Provide HR policy guidance & maintain in-depth knowledge of UK employment law
• Manage employee relations including holidays, absences, disciplinaries, grievances and terminations
• Manage the company benefits
• Provide guidance to company managers regarding performance management
• Learning & development – working across the company to help with and coordinate training plans
• Maintain HR database & other admin such as payroll information, company car details and insurances

You Need:

• Experience of HR in an SME environment
• An understanding of current legislation and employment law
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal sensitively with related issues and individuals using tact, diplomacy and discretion
• A basic understanding of pensions and insurance benefits in order to manage these schemes
• Living in or commutable to Nottingham
