HR Advisor (Maternity Cover)
We are currently looking for a high caliber HR Advisor to join us for up to 12 months as maternity cover, based out of our Tamworth office.
You will provide a responsive and customer-focused HR service, being a key day to day contact for the HR department, and will work closely with the wider HR team to help provide exemplary HR support to the business.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, flexible, well organised, and keen to learn as the varied workload inevitably means that new and interesting things are always happening, and no two days are ever the same.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Overseeing recruitment & induction, including preparing job descriptions, advertising job vacancies, liaising with agencies, reviewing applications, and organising/attending interviews
- HR information & reporting such as maintaining accurate people data and producing reports for management meetings
- Implementing and supporting employee engagement initiatives, to encourage social cohesion
- Providing first-line advice and support on employee relations issues, escalating to the HR Manager where appropriate
- Owning a number of HR processes including offers, pre-start vetting, benefits administration
- Support in the administration of training requirements within the business, including arranging courses, updating training records on SharePoint, and identifying training needs via PDRs
Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum A level educated, ideally degree qualified and at least part CIPD qualified
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail
- Comfortable with data and numbers, and basic competence with MS Excel
- Good knowledge of employment law, and a common-sense approach to its application
- Prepared to travel to other UK sites as required
- Personable and pragmatic, able to develop working relationships at all levels whilst operating professionally
