Our Institute has ambitious plans for growth and the HR Coordinator will play a key role in providing a highly efficient and proactive generalist HR and recruitment service, whilst ensuring compliance with University's policies and best practice. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced HR Coordinator with a solid understanding of HR principles and how we can actively support CISL's future ambitions. • Provide sound HR guidance to employees and managers in line with the University and Institute's policies.
  • Support the recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, reviewing applications, liaising with applicants, and on-boarding new recruits.
  • Work closely with the Compliance team, supporting the visa applications process and ensuring new starters have the necessary right to work.
  • Absence management (annual leave, sickness, parental leave etc).
  • Assist on a variety of ad-hoc projects as and when required.
  • Keep up to date with the latest HR best practice, as well as any University policies and initiatives that may have an impact on HR activities.

The ideal candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria:

  • Experience of working in an HR environment, with a keen interest in supporting colleagues throughout each stage of the employee lifecycle.
  • Customer-focussed, with an approachable and collaborative working style.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to effectively manage and prioritise own workload.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle large amounts of HR data sensitively and efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A keen interest in learning and remaining up to date with HR best practice is essential.
  • Knowledge of various HR tools and systems is preferred but not essential.

What you'll receive:

  • 36 days annual leave (inc bank holidays)
  • Working 36.5 hours per week, hybrid working pattern
  • Excellent benefits including a generous pension scheme, discount portal, cycle to work scheme, access to the university accommodation service, employee assistance programme, family friendly policies along with many more.
