We are looking to hire a HR Consultant to join our growing business.
This position requires prior HR experience, a proactive HR mindset and excellent knowledge of HR process and protocol.
The HR Consultant will directly handle HR matters, working in the best interest of the business and HR best practise.
You will have support from the HR People Ops team on HRIS management, and new starter onboarding, but will take the lead on complex and challenging HR staff related matters.
This position can be worked part-time, with a minimum of 2 days per week based in our Essex based office.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to independently handle, manage and successfully resolve HR situations such as complex employee relations, dispute resolution, disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, restructuring and performance management
- Identify loopholes and areas of improvement across the business, and amend and make changes as required
- Confidently handle HR Legal situations, with the support of People Ops team
- Successfully resolve HR matters and staff situations before they escalate
- Ensure the regular review of internal business policies alongside the People Ops team
- Lead termination meetings and manage exit process in conjunction with People Ops
- Take ownership of HR matters and efficiently resolve situations and escalations
- Hold performance reviews and management meetings
- Foster professional relationships with staff, learning personality and adopting cultural awareness
- Help to boost office morale to maintain and achieve sales environment culture
- Complete ad hoc tasks for the Directors
- Ensure HR documentation issued is correct and maintained (contracts of employment, promotions, maternity etc)
- Support internal recruitment process when required such as; candidate screening, interview coordination etc.
Skills and experience required:
- Extensive HR experience is essential
- Must have a strong and confident personality, with the ability to handle HR situation accurately and assertively
- Ability to question, challenge and obtain fact and evidence as required
- Confident to make decisions and take action, always in the best interest of the business and within HR best practise
- Strategic thinker, who is able to clearly structure, business tasks
- Ability to multitask and project manage
- Ability to handle, confidential information and conduct sensitive HR meetings
- Accountability and ability to work independently
- Able to foster professional relationships across the business
- Desire and ability to support change management and influence relevant stakeholders
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law
- Potentially be available on call to handle HR matters that occur outside of structured working days
