Job description

Purpose of the role:

To provide HR guidance and advice to the senior management team (SMT), line managers and employees within the allocated client groups and, to be an integral part of the HR Team. This is a generalist role and focuses on operational support. The main client group will be based in Almondbank, Perthshire with occasional travel to the South of England. The post holder must be willing and able to travel.

Key responsibilities and duties:
  • To provide a complete HR service to the allocated client groups, ensuring a focus on customer service and best practice.
  • Implement the HR strategy across designated client groups, ensuring that local leadership and line managers are aware of strategy and delivery.
  • Provide advice, guidance and best practice on employment issues to line managers including Company policies and procedures, terms and conditions and case management.
  • Assess risk and identify gaps in employee relations processes.
  • Ensure effective working relationships with the onsite trade union, including the management of communication between parties, seeking guidance from the southern based HR Leadership.
  • In conjunction with the wider HR team, ensure all company policies and procedures are up to date and in line with current employment law and effectively communicated.
  • Work with management within the designated client groups, coaching them and advising on all people issues.
  • Case management responsibility within allocated client groups, covering all employee relations issues.
  • Working directly with the inhouse-recruitment team, provide recruitment process management/support to managers, ensuring Company policy and best practice are maintained in line with business unit objectives.
  • Working directly with the inhouse-L&D team, support the design of learning and development initiatives identified from the employee appraisal process.
  • Develop and manage relevant electronic information tracking systems including but not limited to the HR database (Fusion), Excel spreadsheets
  • Deliver Company induction periodically as designated across relevant locations.
  • Assist the Global StandardAero HR community with relevant projects as they arise.
  • Any other reasonable activity or task within your core area.

Competencies:
  • Demonstrates strong influencing skills and effective communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Up to date knowledge of employment law and the implications to the business.
  • Experience of delivering advice on legislation, compliance and best practice.
  • Hands-on working with local union representatives that engenders a strong working relationship to drive business goals.
  • Versatile track record in software utilisation to drive HR productivity, including but not limited to creation and manipulation of excel spreadsheets, HR database systems.
  • Effective use of KPIs to drive HR Operational Excellence.
  • Experience of complex employee relations case work, including dismissals.
  • Able to appropriately challenge the status quo and put forward proposals for change.
  • Previous experience of restructuring, re-organisation and change management.
  • Able to provide statistical analysis to identify trends and make evidence based decisions and recommendations.
  • Maintains the integrity of people management data to protect all parties in relation to GDPR.

Experience:
  • Comprehensive experience in an HR business partnering environment within an international organisation, in order to demonstrate the ability to work in a wider/diverse HR community and leverage the tools and expertise available, or


Competent HR professional looking to step up to their first HR Business Partnering role with the confidence to be the only on-site HR presence.
  • Experience gained within aerospace, engineering, manufacturing or production environments.


Professional Qualifications/Education and Training:
  • Minimum CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) to demonstrate capability within the HR field.

Other factors:
  • Due to the nature of our business this role requires a fully office-based presence.
  • Must legal be able to work in the UK.
