Position: HR Assistant
- Salary: £30,000 FTE DOE
- Part Time: 3 days per week
- Permanent
Who we are: Subsea Craft is a fast growing, privately-funded, UK-based SME delivering Advanced Maritime Technology. We leverage our team’s defence experience with cross-industry partnerships in the field of advanced naval engineering. Our flagship product, VICTA, is a Diver Delivery Unit - a surface submersible craft designed to operate at speed over range and capable of rapid transition beneath the surface to operate submerged, enabling the discreet delivery and recovery of divers. It is a unique, innovative British product focused primarily on the defence market but with utility beyond.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the recruitment process and responding to applicants by email and phone. Helping to ensure that all queries are responded to or allocated to others for action.
- Scheduling of interviews to include diary management of the relevant interviewers.
- Coordinate interview feedback for second stage interviews.
- Own and be responsible for associated HR processes, letter production and documentation covering the employee life cycle, including (but not limited to) starters, leavers, contract variations, reference checks, probationary reviews and leave management.
- Ensure Right to Work, and Visa checks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Approachable in nature, you will be confident, articulate and motivated and enjoy working collaboratively within a team.
- Monitoring of probationary periods
- Assist in monitoring and responding to general HR queries
- Provide basic advice on policies and procedures to staff and managers.
- Take minutes in grievance, disciplinary and associated HR meetings as and when required.
- Good working understanding of UK Employment Law and HR best practice
- Interface with Payroll monthly to ensure minimal payroll issues.
Qualifications and Experience:
- CIPD Level 3 – desirable.
- HR experience or experience in a trusted position required.
- Good working understanding of UK Employment Law and HR best practice
- A confident communicator and listener on the phone and in person.
- Can effectively build working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
