Brief Description:
Responsible for the daily administrative and HR duties as a team member of Hills Machinery. Assist in recruitment/onboarding and record maintenance for payroll processing as well as clerical support to all employees and management. Answering the phone on occasion, filing, and cross training will be part of the responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Two or more years Human Resource practices and recruiting experience.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations (state, federal, local)
Essential Functions
- Answer and direct incoming calls. Follow up with employees and third parties as needed.
- Administer various human resources plans and procedures; assist in developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures.
- Maintain human resources information system records as well as employee files - including heavy data entry and filing.
- Assist with recruitment efforts.
- Knowledge w/ADP Payroll System and proficient in excel and word.
- Coordinate new hire processing and orientation, including preparation of employment documents, running background checks, pre-employment communication with new staff, and assisting with scheduling onboarding and orientation activities.
- Respond to employment verification requests and other requests for information.
- Monitor and respond to unemployment claims.
- Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of all proprietary/sensitive information and records.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Assist HR and other departments on special projects as needed.
- Perform general clerical duties, including shipping/ordering supplies, faxing, mailing, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
