Mid Sussex District Council are recruiting for an experienced and driven HR professional to join our HR Business Partnering team.
You will perform a critical role providing support to the Council and sitting as a trusted part of the management team supporting the Directors and their senior managers. This is a true partnering role and you will be an integral part of the leadership team that works with the management team to strengthen individual and overall performance.
As a senior HR professional you will help shape the HR service and implement local development plans, providing coaching and mentoring support to Managers to accelerate delivery. You will:
- drive and “translate” localised employee interests when implementing people strategy, process and policies in their respected business units.
- partner with leaders across the organisation to provide trusted HR advice, support and development.
- consult with leaders to identify skill gaps to develop internal talent and build a succession pipeline.
- lead on a range of generalist HR initiatives, including recruitment, talent management and succession, change and employee engagement.
We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner who has managed and supported organisational development and has experience of who can lead and support change and growth. Your responsibilities include:
- partnering leaders across the Council to translate the annual and long-term plans of the organisation into a cohesive and aligned people proposition.
- proactively building valued relationships as a trusted partner with managers and senior leaders at every level across the organisation.
- defining and driving the HR agenda for the organisation which involves talent planning, performance management, employee engagement, operational capability, training & development, and employee relations.
- budget responsibility for HR expenditure, in liaison with key stakeholders.
